Why Green Housing?
The urgent need for sustainable housing solutions in our rapidly urbanizing world
Housing consumes nearly 40% of global energy and materials, making it one of the largest contributors to climate change. As cities expand and populations grow, the environmental impact of our homes becomes increasingly critical.
Greener construction and retrofitting are not just environmental imperatives—they're economic necessities that can significantly lower energy bills and create healthier living spaces for families across India.
"By turning a run into a megaphone for sustainable housing, we rally citizens, builders, and policymakers to act together for a carbon-neutral tomorrow."
Every step in our run represents a commitment to transforming how we build, live, and thrive in harmony with our environment. Join us in making green housing the new standard, not the exception.

About Us
Born from a collective passion to transform running energy into lasting environmental impact
Run for Green Housing was conceived by a passionate collective of urban runners, architects, and social-impact entrepreneurs under the We Heal The Earth umbrella.
Disturbed by rising heat islands and housing inequity in our rapidly growing cities, we decided to convert road-race energy into lasting green homes that benefit both communities and the environment.
Our inaugural run launches across India on 17 July 2025 - Green Housing Day, marking the beginning of a movement that will transform how we think about sustainable living.
We believe that every runner, every step, and every breath can contribute to a carbon-neutral tomorrow where green housing becomes the standard for all.
